TMX finished, ready to be shipped

Hallelujah !!! Got an email today, telling me that my TMX is FINISHED, and getting ready to be shipped to Europe and Norway :) 26.july (in 19 days), I have waited 1000 days for my TMX. But it will probably be 1030 days before I can sit in it :) Very excited !!!

Clipped the Falcon Wing Door

You can now drive the Tesla Model X with the Falcon Wing doors completely extended. Of course, it is not recommended and if you decide to do it, you will be met with both audible and visual alerts. It allows to quickly reposition the SUV for a better exit if needed and it's a pretty cool party trick but other than that, it's preferable to only open the doors when parked, especially when in a garage.

First Tesla Model X to costumers in Norway

Olav has waited 1,600 days on the Tesla Model X. Here he finally gets his hands on his brand new Signature red TMX. Wednesday the first seven Tesla Model X cars were delivered to Norwegian customers. Olav Midttun is Europe's first reservation holder for Model X, with reservation number 0001.

A total of six customers received their Tesla Model X in Tesla business at Rud in Bærum (just outside Oslo in Norway). Wednesday night. In addition, one car was delivered to a customer in Trondheim.

In connection with the delivery Tesla held an event for the new owners. Communication Manager Even Sandvold Roland in Tesla Norway is very pleased with the event.

- This shows how we welcome new customers, and we want of course to give extra attention to the first owners, says Roland Sandvold.

Now also Rear Liftgate sunshade

Following the release of the free sunshade, Tesla is now selling additional options. A Falcon Wing Sunshade for the inside of the roof windows is one such option. Another is available for the rear liftgate and should allow users to still have acceptable visibility out the back, while blocking sun and heat. All the sunshades are made of mesh fabric that is super lightweight and are built on collapsible frames that can be stored in a provided pouch when not in use.

New software update for Falcon doors

Build 2.24.78 of Release 7.1 has changed the behavior of both the Falcon Wing doors and the rear liftgate on the Model X. Now when the car's sensors detect that it is an area of low clearance the doors will open to "a new height that is low enough to avoid obstacles overhead yet high enough to allow easy access to the cabin." The driver can override the cautious behavior on a per-use and per-location basis, permitting the doors to open until the sensors (hopefully) detect an obstacle and stop.

When we (DragTimes.com) first tested the new Model X P90D with Ludicrous mode at the drag strip running an amazing 11.6 @ 116 MPH at Palm Beach International Raceway we were quite surprised how quick and fast it was compared with the Model S P90D Ludicrous running 11.3 @ 116 MPH in a direct heads up race.

Tesla Model X in Beijing

17.june Tesla invited 400 guests to celebrate the official arrival of the Model X in China making it the first country in Asia to receive the electric SUV. The welcoming event took place at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, a historic hotel and garden retreat on the western suburbs of Beijing commonly used for hosting foreign heads of states and government leaders. However, this time it would be home to the grand arrival of Tesla’s flashy SUV.

Delivery date in Norway revealed

29.june a small volume of Tesla Model X cars will arrive in Norway to their first Norwegian owners. That day, I have waited 973 days for my Model X. My 90D model is expected end August, but hope it will arrive earlier with my early order :) 29.june, the Signature models will come. Signature always come first :) The first shipment will be small, then the volume will increase each time. The summer of 2016 will be the summer of X !!!

3 months good experience

Newspapers and websites like to get hits by negative news. It usually sells, but it gives a wrong picture of the situation. While a few are unlucky and gets a car with a production error, most owners have a good experience with the Model X. Ken has 3 months with good Model X experience. His FalconWing doors have not failed once. Nothing else has been a problem with his Model X. It surely proof that most owners are very satisfied with their high tech futuristic car :)

Across Canada in a Tesla Model X

Silke Sommerfeld and Rolf Oetter are driving their Tesla Model X across Canada from Vancouver to Newfoundland. They began their 6,000 mile journey on June 11 and expect to be on the road for 3 months. “We originally thought we would do it in a motor home, but then we switched to a model X, an electric car,” say Silke. “All of a sudden, driving a motor home across Canada with all the gas involved didn’t feel right anymore. So we thought of alternatives.”

Test Drive with Tesla Model X

Today I had my first test drive with Tesla Model X. I brought my three kids and my mother :) Three generations in the first generation Model X :) Fantastic experience. The acceleration, the Autopilot, the Falconwing doors, the silence inside. The robust feeling and dimension which I had in the BMW X5 interior, I got it again in the Tesla Model X. The kids loved it. They were very impressed by the doors :) After a nice talk witk Even Sandvold Roland (Communications Manager for Tesla Norway) about the improvements since the first car came out and the coming deliveries in July and August, we were showed to our test car, a red 90D Tesla Model X. It's a fantastic car !!!
